Classroom and Driving Lesson Packages for Teens

Help Your Teen Become A Safe, Confident Driver

Every parent wants their teen to become a safe, confident driver, but with permits, classroom hours, and behind-the-wheel lessons all happening at different stages, it’s easy to feel like you need a spreadsheet just to keep it straight. You don’t have to figure it out on your own, and you don’t have to get it perfect on the first try.
Anshor has guided hundreds of Colorado families through this exact process, and we know how to meet your student wherever they are, whether that’s day one in the classroom or three lessons away from test-ready. Compare your options below, choose the path that fits your family, and let’s get your teen closer to that license.

What's Included in Each Drivers Education Package

Every student’s path looks a little different. Pick the service that fits where you’re starting from, then check pricing at your nearest Anshor location.

The state-required 30 hours, taught at our classroom driving school with real discussion and group work, not just a manual and a worksheet. Students within 30 days of their 15th birthday, or older, take the written permit test in class.

Find this course on your location page to enroll.

The same 30 required hours, delivered through our partnership with AAA. Self-paced and flexible for students juggling school or work. Available starting at 14 years, 6 months.

A shorter, state-accredited alternative to the 30-hour classroom driving course for young adults ages 18 to 21.

Six hours of one-on-one instruction, split into three 2-hour sessions with the same instructor throughout. Required for any teen licensing before age 16.5, and purchasable on its own if you’ve already completed the classroom portion elsewhere.

We recommend six months, or 10 hours minimum, of practice driving with a parent before booking, so lesson time goes toward sharpening real skills instead of the basics.

Classroom and driving lessons, bundled at a discount compared to purchasing each separately. A $200 down payment gets your student started, no need to pay the full amount upfront.

Here’s What We Believe In

Classroom Driving School Only vs. the Complete Teen Driving Package

You can purchase classroom instruction on its own and add behind-the-wheel lessons later, or bundle both from the start with the Full Teen Driving Package. Bundling is typically the better value if your student needs both classroom and driving lessons:

  • One enrollment instead of two
  • Simpler scheduling since both parts are already set up
  • Typically a better value than purchasing separately

A typical timeline looks like this: complete the classroom driving course first, get the permit, log supervised practice hours with a parent, then schedule behind-the-wheel lessons once your student is comfortable with the basics. Behind-the-wheel lessons are scheduled by appointment after the permit is issued.

Frequently Asked Questions About Colorado Driver’s Education for Teens

Common Questions About Our Driving Lesson Packages

The Full Teen Driving Package includes 30 hours of classroom instruction (in-person or online), the written permit test, and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons with one instructor. A drive test can be added for $40.
Yes. You can enroll in the classroom driving course or online drivers ed course on its own, then add behind-the-wheel lessons later once your student has a permit and some practice time under their belt.
Both cover the same state-required 30 hours. The in-person classroom driving course is taught with group discussion and instructor-led lessons. The online drivers ed course, through AAA, is self-paced and can be completed on your own schedule.
After your student has a permit and has practiced with a parent for a while. We recommend at least six months, or 10 hours, of supervised driving first, so instructor time goes toward advanced skills rather than the basics.
Yes, in the 30-hour classroom, 30-hour online, and Full Teen Driving Package. Students within 30 days of their 15th birthday, or older, take it in class; others can take it later by appointment or at the DMV.
Not automatically. It’s a $40 add-on with the Full Teen Driving Package, and half-price when added to Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons purchased on their own.

Yes. Course availability, scheduling, and behind-the-wheel formats can differ across our Greeley, Alamosa, Salida, and La Junta locations. Check your location page for current details before enrolling.

You and Your Teen Don’t Have to Figure Out Your Driving Test Alone

Between classroom hours, permit tests, and behind-the-wheel lessons, it’s easy to feel unsure about what your student actually needs next. That’s okay, you don’t have to map it out yourself. Tell us where your student is in the process, and we’ll help you find the right course or package, get it scheduled, and keep things moving toward a license.
